Boost nutrition. Drop calories.
The easiest way to boost the nutritional value of your meal while promoting a healthy body weight is to simply fill your plate ½ with vegetables and fruit. By making this simple adjustment, you automatically increase the antioxidant and fiber content of your meal AND reduce the overall calorie content without decreasing the volume of food.
Make eating the event
Make your meal the main event- cut the distractions when eating such as watching TV or playing on your computer. Be fully present by sitting down at the table, putting your food on a plate, and eating it slowly. This simple changes makes you more aware of what you are eating, how quickly you eat it, and how much you actually it. The more aware you are of what you eat, the more satisfied you will feel and the less likely you will be to overeat.
