Eating right is about so much more than what foods we put into our bodies. How we eat is of equal importance! Mindful eating allows us savor the foods we eat, find more joy and contentment in a meal, and be able to recognize hunger and fullness cues.

  • Eat without distractions – turn off the TV, put away the computer, and focus on your food.
  • Set the table and plate your food – make the meal an enjoyable experience.
  • Pause in the middle of the meal to assess your fullness. Try to recognize when your body is truly satisfied.

Healthy living goes beyond food. Try to prioritize better self-care as well. This means doing something each day that brings you joy and relieves stress. Make a list of the things that you enjoy (going for a walk, learning a new skill, volunteering, painting, etc.), and try to incorporate them into your daily routine!
